Wittel is an all female dormitory located at 205 South Gay Street on the corner of Gay Street and Thach Avenue in Auburn, Alabama. We are one block East of Auburn University’s campus and two blocks Southeast of Toomer’s Corner, the historical downtown Auburn area. The dormitory is with in walking distance of many local restaurants, shops, and hot spots. Wittel Dormitory was built in 1940 and is a staple of Auburn tradition; there is an amazing view of Samford Hall which can be seen from our front lawn. A Historical marker was placed on the front lawn October 10,1999 which tells more of the Wittel Family and the building. Wittel dormitory has preserved its historical charm and ambiance with hard wood floors and 12’ to 14’ ceilings throughout the first and second floor. There are living quarters on two main halls, the garden level and third floor attic. The garden level also includes a full kitchen, eating area, and TV lounge. Wittel is Fully Furnished with all utilities included and a Laundry Onsite! Wittel has a Full Time House Mom and a Full Time Resident Assistant.
